Previous event Nov 14 The Guys perform Gypsy Jazz
Dan Adams came to the US in 1993 from Chernovtsy in the Bukovina region of Moldova. He plays the violin with a control and freedom usually known only to jazz musicians. And in fact, Dan is one of the few musicians with classical qualifications as long as your arm who can play jazz.
Dan Adams is a violinist, composer, and arranger who seamlessly combines the worlds of classical music and jazz with a hint of gypsy style.
The result is a tapestry woven from light classical, jazz, klezmer, hot club, and Traditional East European music. He has brought his distinct style of music to Roanoke, Virginia, where he has found the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, ranging from duos and quartets, all the way to international collaborations.
His latest recording was made with New Friends & Old Friends, Al Broholm, Bob Bowen, Bob Peckman, Victor Dubenco and Victor Cebotari. It is truly eclectic and electrifying.

Pianist and B3 Organist James Pace began playing piano at age 3, and now at 31 continues to tour and perform internationally. His current touring career with Serbian born Eclecto Groove Artist Ana Popovic keeps James on the road about 6 months each year throughout the U.S., Canada and South America. James has also toured with Australian performer and Blind Pig Recording Artist “Harper”.
He has recently been hired to work with W.C. Handy Award Winner Mrs. Janiva Magness.
Over his career Pace has shared the stage along side and been hired by many great artists such as blues legend Buddy Guy, Blue Note Recording Artist Rodney Jones, guitarist Wayne Krantz (Steely Dan), Blues Legend Robert Cray, Los Lobos, Blood Sweat and Tears, Los Lonely Boys, and several others.
While not touring, James can be seen performing up to 6 nights a week in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas. He is also currently the resident piano player at Hotel Roanoke.
